Conbit Offshore
Conbit: principal activities major lifting and erection operations at sea.
The business takes on major structural engineering and construction projects as well as handling ship's cargoes. Their work is primarily offshore. Engineers in Eindhoven carry out the planning and preparation for the task, and materials and equipment are shipped to Conbit's project staff all around the world in containers.
Interal T.C. manufacture lifting components for Conbit. This equipment must be capable of lifting heavy loads, while not being excessively heavy itself. This is where aluminium comes into its own, with its low self-weight allied to structural strength. Not to mention the absence of rust.
We manufacture two types of components for cranes, one type based on truss construction and the other making use of round tube with diameters between 200 and 350mm and heavy flanges. Both crane types can be taken on board without the use of ancillary equipment.
The technical requirements for the welding work involved are extremely stringent, involving 100% subjection to NDT. The requirements for traceability of materials, certifications, welding regimes and the like are also exceptionally demanding. But it's precisely the demanding nature of this work that makes it of interest to Interal T.C., as our entire production process is set up to meet such requirements. Our quality control system also needs to be exceptionally tight to meet these quality standards, with positive effects on the more standard work we carry out.
